PRINT OF THE MONTH: Moccasins by Lynne Allen. About 2000, Etching on handmade paper with hand-colouring, linen thread and shellac Printmaker Lynne Allen is descended from the Hunkpapa tribe of the Lakota people. She began making objects inspired by her ancestry after reading the journals of her great-grandmother Josephine Waggoner. The decoration on these moccasins is derived from images in the journals and text in Native American ledger books.
